Healthy Schools

National Healthy Schools Status

Oasis Academy Coulsdon has been awarded Healthy School Status.

We have been working with the Department for Children, Schools and Families and the department of health within a regional network.  The government has set targets that all schools and Academies will be participating in the programme by December 2009 and that 75% of schools will have achieved National Healthy Schools status.

The purpose of the scheme is to ensure that health education becomes an integrated part of the school curriculum and that the wider community is involved in its planning, implementation, evaluation, and celebration.

There are four strategic aims of the NHSP:

  • To support children and young people in developing healthy behaviours
  • To help raise pupil achievement
  • To help reduce health inequalities
  • To help promote social inclusion.

The National Healthy Schools Project builds on what schools have been doing for several years. As an Academy we are already participating with PSHE, physical activity ,healthy eating, and emotional health and wellbeing.  Follow the link to find out more about the Project.

Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
