RECORD-BREAKING GCSE RESULTS

Students and staff at Oasis Academy Coulsdon are celebrating outstanding GCSE results this summer which have smashed all previous school records. Since opening three years ago attainment levels have risen by 42% overall!

Initial reports show that GCSE figures for 2011 are:

50% 5* A - C inc English & Maths
(13% improvement from 2010)
93% 5 A* - C (10%improvement from 2010)
95% 5 A* - G (3% improvement from 2010)
98%1 A* - G

David Millar, Principal said “This is a very good day for the Academy; our improved results are a testament to the hard work and dedication of students and staff. We have amazing students and it’s wonderful to be able to celebrate so many individual successes.”

Amongst the many students celebrating were:

Head Boy Aneeque Safdar with 21 ½ GCSEs all at the top A*-C grades: 8 A*s, 7 x A grades, 6 x B grades and 1 x C. A remarkable achievement as he only arrived in the UK 3 years ago from Saudi Arabia and although he had an understanding of English he was by no means fluent and had to learn the language!

The Academy Student Leadership Team notched up a total of 68 top grade GCSEs between them, 22 of which were A* and A grades! Head Boy Aneeque from Croydon, Head Girl Ashley Joannau from Purley, Deputy Head Boy Ashley Grant from Coulsdon and Deputy Head Girl, Hannah Peploe also from Coulsdon were all celebrating their stunning achievements.

Top achieving girls were Coulsdon residents, Rosie King and Chloe Walton with 18 GCSEs each and both girls were awarded A grades in six of their subjects!

Sam Opiyo achieved a stunning set of results:  20 top grade GCSEs and was closely followed by Adam Fry with 19!

David Millar, Principal said: “It’s very fitting that these record breaking results have been achieved in what is an historic year for the Academy: we are about to move into our brand new £18.7m building and will be welcoming the majority of these Year 11 students into our brand new Sixth Form. We look forward to celebrating ‘Class of 2013’ A Level results in two years’ time.”

Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
