10/11/2008
Oasis Academy Coulsdon are hosting a Business Breakfast at 8am on Friday 14th November 2008.
Over 400 local businessmen have been invited by Principal John Murphy to hear a keynote address by Reverend Steve Chalke, MBE, on ‘Investment for the Future’. Richard Ottoway, MP, will also be attending. The event pre-cedes the start of National Enterprise Week on 17-21 November.
Principal John Murphy says:
‘Business & Enterprise underpins every part of our curriculum. It is so important that we fully prepare our students for the workplace and we have modelled our student leadership team on business lines’.
Two Managing Directors, Solomon Egbo-Egbo and Natalie Searle head a team of Student Directors each of who have specific responsibilities for the development of the Academy as well as acting as role models for younger students. This team of students will be networking with local businessmen at the breakfast helping to promote the Academy and develop partnership links.
‘We want to engage with businesses and harness their expertise. Our students are the workforce of the future, we want them to experience how a business works and understand how the subjects they are learning at the Academy relate to the real world; it will be a powerful motivational force to help them become the leaders of tomorrow.’
John Murphy said.
