Welcome to the FOAC's page of the website! The FOAC is our Academy's Parent Teacher Association. We play an important role in Academy life by raising funds to improve equipment and resources to enhance our children's education at the Academy. We also provide funds to facilitate their extra curricular projects and provide for the "extras" too, such as sporting trophies, medals, and year books. We are pleased to have been able to raise enough funds to purchase a defibrillator for the new building too. But the role of the FOAC is about much, much more than just fundraising: we are proud to assist in providing closer links between your home and the Academy; we are an excellent means of bringing the students, staff, parents and our friends together socially in support of the Academy.
The FOAC operates through a committee and we try to ensure that each Family is represented and has a voice on how funds are spent. We also seek the view from the Student Council too, as ultimately it is the students for whom we raise funds. The FOAC Committee consists of three Officers: Chair; Treasurer; and Secretary. We also have a number of other Committee members to make up our full Committee. We hold meetings about twice a term but appreciate that it can be difficult to get to evening meetings which is why we encourage people to join even though we might not see them that often!
We are pleased to receive a lot of support and encouragement from both the Academy and Parents/Carers. Without this support, it would not be possible to succeed in our fundraising endeavours. Joining a committee might seem daunting, but it is a great way to get to know how the Academy works and meet fellow parents and teachers at the same time. We really do appreciate any help, however big or small that help might be. We run a number of events throughout the year to raise funds. Our most popular events are our annual Quiz Night and Car Boot Sales. We are very keen to try new events too, so keep watch for our Diary of Events on this page.
Not all of our events are run as fundraisers. We assist at a number of events such as the annual Sports' Fest and Academy Discos which are run with the aim of giving the children a good time and as a way of thanking families for their continued support of the FOAC.
Our Annual General Meeting was held at the Academy in the Autumn term. This is an opportunity for anyone to come along and hear in more detail about the events that we have run and the funds that we have raised and more importantly, how your money has been spent. It is also the occasion when we elect our new Committee.
Our PTA belongs to NCPTA, which is the national charity that advances education and supports PTA's. We pay an annual membership fee to the NCPTA which gives us lots of member benefits including a comprehensive insurance package, support and advice on PTA and fundraising matters, opportunities to meet with other PTAs to discuss and share experiences, and an extensive list of PTA information and resources. The NCPTA also has a range of parental information sheets on a wide variety of educational topics including: special educational needs; advice with homework; using the internet and career paths to name but a few. You can access this information via the NCPTA website, www.ncpta.org.uk To gain entry to the site you will need our membership number, which is 27267 and our school postcode which is CR5 1ES. Do have a look!

Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
