The Head of English, recognised by HMI Inspectors as a 'dynamic leader', requires an English Teacher with drive, determination and high aspirations to join her team of subject specialists. You will be jointly responsible for ensuring our students receive an outstanding English education. We are looking for excellence in the classroom, allied to enthusiasm, passion and a commitment to Inclusion and closing the gap between different groups of learners. Start date September 2012.

Overall, 2011 GCSE results were the best ever - our achievement in KS4 English places our Academy in the top 15% of schools in the country. This year we expect 60% of our students to achieve five or more A* - C grades including English and Mathematics.
Our multi-million pound building programme has transformed the Academy into an outstanding and flexible learning environment. All classrooms are designed to accommodate different learning styles, with breakout areas, quiet zones, and extended rooms for large debates or team teaching. There is a dedicated Sixth Form Centre with small tutorial rooms, lecture area and private study facilities. The Academy has first class sports facilities including two Sports Halls, Dance Studio and Fitness Suite, an Internet Café. All Learning Zones are equipped with the latest IT facilities and satellite-linked equipment. Our modern cafeteria serves breakfast, lunch and snacks to accommodate our students' flexible and extended study periods. Our facilities also include an on-site nursery with discounted staff places.
