Curriculum Leader Physical Education

Due to our forthcoming New Build and

Sixth Form Opening in September 2011

We have a vacancy for

Curriculum Leader Physical Education

 (MPS 1-6 U1-3 as appropriate) +TLR1 (£7,158) + OLA

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a flourishing Academy and play a key role in our journey towards excellence.   Start date can be agreed anytime from April until September 2010.

“The leadership team and staff at Oasis Academy Coulsdon are

emphatically focused on raising standards and provide an

exemplary level of care for its students.

                                                                                                                (Ofsted, February 2010)

Last year’s results were the best ever with 63% of our students achieving five or more A* - C grades with 44% to include English and Mathematics.  This year we expect PE grades to be 76% A*-C for GCSE PE and 100% pass rate for BTEC Dance & PE & OCR Sport.  We offer a range of pathways for PE accreditation including GCSE, OCR Sport and BTEC.  The 6th Form curriculum is currently being designed and experience of teaching Physical Education up to A Level would be beneficial, thought not essential.

Our new build due for completion in summer 2011 will comprise an outstanding Sports Hall, dedicated gym and dance studio.  There will be a KS4 & KS5 dedicated computer suite for PE theory work.  The Academy has extensive grounds and enjoys a rural setting.

Our team of PE staff work closely with the School Sport Partnership and provide extended opportunities for students.  The Academy has achieved Healthy School Status and has a policy of encouraging all students to participate in some form of daily exercise.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and oversee an extended range of after-school sports clubs and enrichment opportunities for our students.  As we are in the process of developing our 6th Form and curriculum offer we would be interested in hearing from you even if you are relatively new to the profession.

There are many exciting initiatives planned for the coming years. For further details please visit our web site.

- £18.7 million being spent on new buildings and facilities for September 2011
