Early in the hours of Thursday 15th October, two students from Oasis Academy Coulsdon were given the honour of getting to ask questions of peace directly to His Holiness the Dalai Lama on a live global stream titled ‘Liveable Planet Earth : Working together for a Peaceful World’. The event was in honour of the 89th Birth Anniversary of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam who was the 11th President of India between 2002-2007, and the Dalai Lama served as guessed of honour for the auspicious occasion.
On Thursday 15th October, students and staff at Oasis Academy Coulsdon stood united to Show Racism the Red Card. As part of the national campaign Wear Red Day, we are proud to support this cause and show that we stand for equality and diversity within the OAC Family.
We are pleased to be celebrating National Poetry Day at the Academy with a reading of the poem See Though My Eyes by Karl Nova ready by our English department. The video was shared and shown to all students at Mentor time to ensure that even those who did not have English on their timetable on Thursday 1st October did not miss out on the celebrations.
