Student Leadership
We feel it is important for our young people to feel empowered and have a say in how they feel aspects of the Academy should be run. Therefore, we offer are a wide range of opportunities for students to take on leadership roles.
Academy Student Leadership Team
In Year 11 students are awarded positions of responsibility as Academy Head Prefects. They are supported by a team of Deputy Head Prefects and Prefects. Our student leaders are highly respected role models to the younger year groups and outstanding ambassadors for the Academy.

Representatives within each year group are elected to the Student Council. The Council meet fortnightly and consider policy issues, charity support, community projects and matters relating to all areas of Academy life. Through their elected representatives student voice forms an important part in shaping the future of our family.
Student Councillors have been delighted to welcome fellow Council members from Oasis Academy Byron and Oasis Academy Shirley Park and are working collaboratively on issues and ideas to improve student experiences both within the educational environment and community.
Year 10 students are encouraged to apply for House Captain and Sports Leader positions in preparation for their application to become Head Prefects and Prefects in Year 11. House Captains work closely with the House Leaders on inter-house competitions and charity fundraising.
