GCSE Results Day 2020

GCSE Results Day 2020

This is not the year any of us had anticipated, and it is not the way the current Year 11 cohort of students envisaged receiving their GCSE results. However, on Thursday 20th August the Class of 2020 received the grades which they have worked hard for, and which teachers hoped would reflect the hard work they have put in throughout their time of study.

Whilst we would normally celebrate statistics and figures of top achievers and remarkable progress, this year we would like to instead say thank you. We would like to thank every parent who has worked hard over these months to ensure their child stayed focussed and motivated in readiness for when we all returned to ‘normal’ after results day; many of whom were also trying to work and think up countless ways to entertain their families at the same time. We would like to thank our staff who have worked tirelessly to provide support for students and their families throughout this time, all the while supporting their own families and trying to keep their own children at home focussed and motivated.

Finally, we would like to thank our students. They have shown resilience, maturity, and courage during an extremely testing period. They have shown that they can handle whatever the world can throw at them, and for this reason we know that they will go to great things. We hope that they all go on to succeed on their chosen path as they take their next steps in what it a slightly changed world; but into it go incredible individuals ready to embrace the next challenge.
