We were honoured to take part in the online ceremony organised and hosted by the World Humanitarian Drive on Monday 5th April 2021.

The event honoured Police Officer, Matt Ratana who was killed last year in Croydon, and the awards ceremony was chosen to take place on  this the International Day of Conscience in memory of his humanitarian work. At the event students from the Academy had the opportunity to perform a musical piece, read poems, as well as put questions to guest of honour, Mandla Mandella MP, grandson of Nelson Mandela.

We were delighted by the coverage of the event featuring on the Croydon Guardian Online. Click here to read the article, where you will also find a link to the event on YouTube. You can view OAC students at points from 46, 53, 61 & 67 minutes. Thank you to those who took part: Horeb Mbenza, Zara Kamara, Emily Holland, Ellie Perry, Mollie Conrad, Zach Drolet, Sewa Badejo, and Aidan Clark, and also to Ms John for organising this amazing opportunity.
