OAC Students take part in Interfaith Debate

Students from Oasis Academy Coulsdon took part in an interfaith debate via Zoom on Monday 16th November 2020 as part of interfaith week. The purpose of the event was to bring students from across all London boroughs to discuss what their faith means to them and how this links to contemporary issues, such as climate change, Coronavirus and more.

Year 11 student, Mollie, hosted part of the debate and asked two very poignant questions: How has your faith groups supported the community during the Covid pandemic, is there more we can do? Followed by How can faith groups support young adults who face challenging issues such as crime and discrimination?

Following the debate part of the conference, students took park in a fun online quiz session linked to the theme, and we are delighted to announce that students from OAC won the top three prizes of Amazon vouchers which were donated by the Dialogue Society in London.

Well done to all students who took part, you were fantastic ambassadors for the Academy.
