Oasis Academy Coulsdon is celebrating the strongest GCSE results in its history, with record-breaking outcomes, exceptional individual achievements and students progressing to prestigious educational, sporting and career pathways.
Students at Oasis Academy Coulsdon are celebrating the strongest GCSE results in the academy's history, reflecting years of hard work, determination and ambition from an exceptional year group.
This year's outcomes represent the best results the academy has ever achieved, with 75% of students securing grades 4+ in English and Mathematics, 55% achieving grades 5+, and 23% achieving grades 7+, all academy records.
The academy has also achieved its highest ever Attainment 8 score of 50.3 highlighting consistently strong performance across the curriculum and demonstrating the success of the academy's commitment to high expectations and excellent teaching.
Principal Catrin Green said:
"We are incredibly proud of this year's Year 11 students. These results represent not only outstanding academic achievement, but also the resilience, character and determination shown by young people who have embraced every opportunity available to them.
This cohort arrived at secondary school just as the country was emerging from the pandemic and quickly established themselves as a year group that was ambitious, positive and committed to making the most of their time with us. Their success is thoroughly deserved, and we are delighted to celebrate with them and their families today."
Leading the cohort was Caleb, the academy's highest attaining student. He was joined by a group of exceptional high achievers including Robyn, Hannah, Siobhan, Elizabeth and Jacob, all of whom achieved an average of Grade 8 across their GCSE subjects.
Alongside these outstanding academic achievements, the academy is particularly proud of students who overcame significant challenges during their time at school.
Jacob demonstrated remarkable resilience after missing substantial periods of education due to illness. Despite this challenge, he achieved an impressive set of results including three Grade 7s, three Grade 6s and a Grade 5.
Similarly, Hannah, the academy's third highest attaining student, faced medical challenges throughout her secondary education. Through determination and perseverance, she continued to work relentlessly and achieved exceptional outcomes, demonstrating both academic excellence and personal strength.
The academy is also celebrating the exciting range of destinations secured by students as they take their next steps.
Harry S achieved excellent results and will be joining Gordon's School to further develop his rugby career, building on his involvement with the Harlequins pathway programme.
Reuben, who achieved the tenth highest results in the year group, is moving on to the prestigious BRIT School. An accomplished musician, Reuben has made a significant contribution to academy life and staff are excited to see what he achieves in the future.
The academy also congratulates Gracie, Annabelle and Star, who have also secured places at The BRIT School, demonstrating the breadth of talent within this year's cohort.
The academy is equally proud of Nieve, who is pursuing her ambition of a career in aviation, reflecting the wide range of aspirations and future pathways being followed by this successful year group.
