The Oasis Gala was beautifully opened by two outstanding Year 10 students, Jake and Eirini. Their speech set a powerful tone for the evening, capturing the heart of what it means to be part of the Oasis community.
Jake and Eirini spoke with warmth and conviction about the Academy’s strong family ethos, describing Oasis not just as a school, but as a close-knit community where relationships are nurtured and every individual is valued. Their reflections highlighted how this ethos is lived out daily—through meaningful connections between students and staff, and through initiatives that promote inclusion and leadership.
A key focus of their speech was the “No One Left Out” campaign, which they described as a cornerstone of Oasis values. They shared how this initiative transforms obstacles into opportunities, ensuring that every voice is heard and every student is supported.
Both students also spoke proudly of their roles as Oasis Youth Influencers, a position that empowers them to represent their peers and advocate for change.
Jake and Eirini also extended heartfelt thanks to Sodexo, the evening’s sponsor, for their continued support and dedication to inclusive catering across Oasis Academies. They praised Sodexo’s efforts to listen to student feedback and meet diverse dietary needs—another example of the inclusive spirit that defines Oasis.
It was a truly inspiring start to the Gala, and a reminder of the incredible potential within our young people.
